Amar was responsible for OHSL’s various pharmaceutical activities and programs. He is an expert in global health policy and pharmaceutical systems and industry. With a background in government and industry, Amar has amassed considerable knowledge and experience of how different governments approach the mandate of assuring the health of its citizens, while enabling local industry, particularly healthcare and life sciences, to grow and succeed.

From 2014 to 2016, Amar was President of TwoFour Insight Group, LLC. As one of the co-founders he provided assistance to companies and business associations in achieving their stakeholder engagement and advocacy objectives. Previously, Amar was an Assistant Vice President for International Affairs at the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA).

Amar began his career with the U.S. Government, working in the Fogarty International Center of the U.S. National Institutes of Health, and later serving as the first Director of the Asia-Pacific office within the Office of the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, building a team of health representatives and attachés positioned throughout Asia.

Amar has a Ph.D. from The George Washington University in Public Policy, a Master’s in Public Policy from Duke University, and a Bachelor’s in Chemistry, also from Duke University.
